Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Community Hive is communication software for buildings. This page says what the site does for accessibility today, and what it does not claim.
We want residents, council members, and property managers to read notices and complete tasks without an unnecessary barrier. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as the reference. This statement is not a conformance claim. The product has not had a formal accessibility audit, and we do not say that every screen meets a WCAG level.
Community Hive is not a prescribed organization under the Accessible British Columbia Act. We still want people to be able to use the service, and we will take barrier reports seriously.
- The site is marked as English.
- Appearance can follow the device, or be set to light or dark. That choice is stored on the device.
- Public pages use headings, form labels on the main contact and signup flows, and visible keyboard focus on footer and navigation links.
- Some status messages are exposed to assistive technology. This is not consistent on every screen.
- Community documents and announcements are only as accessible as the file or text the community uploads. A scanned image with no text alternative is not readable by a screen reader.
- There is no skip link on every page.
- Some older dashboard screens were built before the current public pages and are harder to use with a keyboard or screen reader.
- Maps, rich text, and uploaded files can include content we do not control.
- We have not tested the full product with a published assistive-technology matrix.
Email dan@communityhive.ca and describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you used. We will reply and correct what we can in the product.
