Cookie Policy

What the browser stores so you can stay signed in and keep a display preference.
Community Hive sets cookies so a signed-in person stays signed in and so forms can be checked for forgery. These cookies are HTTP-only, use SameSite=Lax, and are marked Secure when the site is in production. They are not advertising cookies. The public site does not load a Google Analytics, advertising, or similar tracking script.

Signing out clears the session cookie for that role. A session can also be revoked on the server before the cookie expires.
Some preferences are stored in the browser with local storage, not cookies. They stay on the device until the browser clears them:
- ch:theme and theme — light, dark, or system appearance.
- pm:forceTheme — keeps the demo in light mode.
- ch.session and current_tenant — older client session hints.
- Sidebar and onboarding keys, so a layout choice is remembered in that browser.
Checkout and the billing portal run on Stripe. While you are on Stripe's pages, Stripe may set its own cookies to process the payment method and prevent fraud. Community Hive does not read those cookies. Card numbers stay with Stripe.
Error reporting, when configured, is described in the Privacy Policy. It is not a cookie used to advertise.
You can block cookies in the browser. Sign-in will not work without the session cookie. Questions go to dan@communityhive.ca.
